Teamwork is the most important aspect in safeguarding the vulnerability of corporate internet business. In Mega-Corp, the management is the most important team as it is responsible for establishing incident response policies and organizing the budget and members of staff. The information security team identifies analyses and helps to contain incidences. There are incidents such as illegal admission to telephone lines that require the expertise of the telecommunications team. When the information system is attacked, it is the responsibility of the IT support team to disconnect it from the network. The legal department ensures all plans and policies comply with the laws and federal guidance. This department handles all lawsuits, collects evidence and is involved in suspect-prosecution incidents. Members of Public Affairs and Media Relations department are responsible for informing the media and sometimes the public in case of incidents that require public knowledge. Disciplining employees who are found guilty of causing incidents is handled the human resources department. The business continuity planning professionals are made aware of the incidents in the company and their role is to develop measure in risk assessment and planning responses in certain types of incidents. The incident response team works closely with the physical security and facilities management during incident handling and solving. Describe how this team will interface with the forensics partner Forensic partners are there to make sure that the forensic specialists have all that they need to carry out their work. They are particularly common in this type business. Computer technology Investment network who work hand in hand with other departments in Mega-Corp. These partnerships are there to foster smooth investigations in the laboratory. These partnerships have also opened opportunities for students to get internships in these firms. They thus act as a link between the two. The forensic partners also help in getting a means in which current employees are trained so that they can keep abreast with what is trending in the industry. There is a hierarchy in the business structure, which helps to increase how rapidly the response is to forensic investigation. This is all made possible by the presence of a strong communication network within the company. From top management to lower level employees in Mega-Corp the line of authority is clearly defined and flows seamlessly from one person to another. There is also the inclusion of cyber lawyers that deal with any ambiguity as compared to other law firms. As forensic specialists cannot know everything, the DLA law firm helps them understand computer investigations that are within the confines of the law. These partners are licensed to practice anywhere in the United States. In the event that a case goes to court, they advise the forensic firm parties as appropriately. They also provide them with legal counsel during the trial (Kruse Heiser, 2001). Explain how the organization will establish relationships with local law enforcement and regulatory agencies prior to an incident Mega-Corp has collaborated with other law enforcement agencies so that it can get work for it to do. Organizations such as High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and InfraGard all give the firm an opportunity to interact and network at local and international levels. In addition to that, they have ties with government departments such as Department Homeland Security. These firms have created applications and programs that make sharing of information easy and fast. These programs include US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-Cert) and the Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII) Program that share information with the private sector, including security vendors, academia, and other federal agencies. Through these products, we can report on any potential threats that they feel the country might face (Department of Homeland Security, 2012). Businesses, law enforcement agencies, academic institutions and other law-abiding citizens felt that they needed an institution, which would address security threats. InfraGard was thus born. This organization addresses any potential threats and the institutions could report any of the threats to it. Mega-Corp’s offices should develop a link between the law enforcement agencies and itself. This will ensure that the lines of communication are clear and that whenever there is an issue it can be easily sorted out. This clear line of communication is a boost when it comes to sorting out any issues. The response time is reduced at a high rate, as there is a great working relationship between Mega-Corp and the institutions. Thus, it is mandatory that both teams be educated on the importance of maintaining a good working relationship. This relationship will remain the same as new generations are brought in to work in the institutions and Mega-Corp. Provide support for your selection of team members and leaders For communication to be fostered in a better way, there needs to be a liaison between the Corporate Incidence Response Team and management at Mega-Corp. The Human Resource Director will act as their go between, it is their responsibility to make sure that the policies and procedures are revised often. This will give adequate support to future investigations. The Human resource department will be tasked with providing any assistance that will be needed in the course of any investigation that needs to be carried out. It is also essential that HR be given the necessary backing to help them carry out their job. Therefore, it is important that a partnership is created so that HR has an easier time when creating, educating and implementing these policies in conjunction with the employees of the firm. Departments such as Information Security board of Review (ISBR) are tasked with role of giving oversight and direction with anything that pertains to Information systems security and making sure there is privacy in conjunction with Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Information Systems Security Officer. The Information Systems Security Officer is appointed by the CIO and ISBR and is tasked with the job of ensuring that the Office of Information of Mega-Corp and ISSO have the appropriate Network Security Manager (NSM). In turn, the NSM is responsible for ensuring that the Network Security Officer (NSO) and Information Security Officer (ISO) are appointed at each work station and that they are doing their work without any hiccups. Both ISSO and NSM should have vast experience in cases involving OS. Therefore, when picking the individuals to head these posts considerable care should be taken so that the best candidate is chosen. The individual needs to be an expert in background networ k monitoring, detection, and intrusion. How the execution of the operating system controls and digital protection architecture of the networks via the NSM and review Mega-Corp information security is done by the ISSO. This ensures that information is protected from any unauthorized access. This is made possible as the NSO and ISO will work hand in hand to supervise compliance, procedures, policies and ensuring security integrity of Mega-Corp systems. These departments will work together with the SIRT and HR Department to revise, expand, and implement corporate policies pertaining to security, technology and acceptable usage. There are certain activities that could be characterized as violations of a security policy. They are as follows: Notifications from an intrusion detection tool Suspicious entries in the system or network logs Log discrepancies, such as gaps in the logs or missing log files Unsuccessful log-on attempts Unauthorized new user accounts, or unauthorized root or admin access Strange new files or unfamiliar file names Modifications to system executable file lengths and/or date and time stamps Unrecognized behavior of writing to system files, or changes in system files Unexplained modification or deletion of data Inability of one or more users to login to an account (Denial of service) Sudden unexplained system crashes Noticeable reductions in system performance Unauthorized attempts to capture or analyze network traffic Any threats that are detected in the server Taking note of any anomalies that may take place in the organizations Proper care and diligence needs to be taken when any of these incidences take place in a firm. There should be immediate investigations to know what the cause was from members of SIRT. In addition to that, the departments from Mega-Corp together with DLA Piper should lend a hand in the Subject Matter Expert (SME). The SME is able to bring about difficult technical information by employing the use of terms and concepts that the final user can easily grasp no matter what level they belong to in an organization. This ensures that, in Mega-Corp, there will be content accuracy of corporate policies. Include a communication strategy that will ensure members of this team have all of the information they need to be successful, if called upon to respond to an incident Reporting Procedures When there has been any security threat, detected employees should inform their NSO. It is therefore mandatory that they know the NSO. If the NSO cannot be reached then the NSM should be reached and if he or she is not available then the ISSO and if all else fails contact the office of the ISBR. The CIO can also be notified by the ISBR and all this should be done in a timely fashion so that the effects of the threat are minimized. If the CIO feels that, the breach was too serious then he or she should report to the CHFI for appropriate response options. If it is suspected that criminal activity is involved then proper legal counsel should be sought. Incident priorities Incase of the following ever happens they should be given top priority: Possible life-threatening activity Attacks on the Internet infrastructure Root name servers Domain name servers Major archive sites Network access points (NAPs) Widespread automated attacks against Internet sites Network/packet sniffers Router attacks Root compromises The procedure of handling such incidences is through; Reports, Training scenarios and Documents that can be handed off to law enforcement, when necessary. It is the duty of employees never to disclose any information about incidents, which happen in an organization to anyone apart from those in the chain of reporting (MTU, 2011). After reporting an incident to the right authorities, there has to be thorough investigations into the matter to come up with possible solutions. Timely reporting allows all members of the incident response team to play their roles effectively. Detection, reporting and analysis of an incident guarantee that the incident is contained. Containment includes decision making however, they depend on the type of incident. Incidents can be communicated through various ways including email, phone conversations and notice boards. Communication can also be done in person. Nevertheless, only those within the incident response team should have access to the information about potential and existing incidents. Depending on the type of incident, the response team should develop appropriate measure to counteract further incidents within the organization. The information technology team should be trained on ways to maintain the operations of the system. Every member of the response team needs to be provided with the right resources to recognize report and analyze the incidents in the organization. After discovering what caused the incident, the response team should take effective measures to ensure that it does not happen again and come up with supplementary resources that would be needed to identify report, evaluate and mitigate future incidents. NOT SO SCARY ONCE YOU DO IT This week several readers have given me pause, making me remember from whence I came and that Ive learned. We read the blogs and newsletters from people who seem to be way over our heads in power, ability and talent, and too often we discount our own abilities. In mentioning the recent rash of face-to-face interviews Ive done lately (Skype and in-person), someone commented about how scary that was. As Im writing this, Im nervous about a 20-minute talk Im giving this evening to a MENSA chapter in Columbia, SC. These folks are often accomplished with pretty decent levels of intellect. Here I am, coming off 15 appearances, yet Im a bit ill-at-ease about this one. Instead of being too afraid to accept, however, I had to make fun and remind myself, as Will Smith said in the movie Men in Black, First off, you chose me, so you recognize the skills In another situation, where I taught about entering contests and recognizing the scams, half the readers seemed afraid if not angry about contests, believing they were all scams. One guy was sure that if a contest charged a fee, they were opportunists at our expense. I reminded him that all publishers were in the business to make a buck, and all of them charged: some in advance, some after sales.In traditional or self-publishing circles, the publishers arent all that charitable, doing what they do for the sake of God or humanity. Plus contests are such opportunities. And on Facebook, someone fussed about editors and how they are evil minions intent on changing our stories to their own. He was concerned that editors would overstep their bounds and rewrite the content, not just make corrections. I reminded him that writers pick and choose whats edited. Even with traditional publishers that want manuscripts changed before agreeing to publish, you can negotiate. I did. The underlying theme in all of these concerns and complaints is that of fear. Fear someone will make fun. Fear someone will steal our work or our money. Fear someone will take advantage of our deep-seeded, emotional urge to publish. Were pouring our souls into print, and the last thing we need in the midst of our trepidation is someone who also robs us of money,rights or self-esteem. Do . . . it . . . once. Do an interview in person. Speak to a small group. Enter a contest. Let an editor lay hands on your work. Whats the worst that can happen? The interview goes badly? The host wants a good interview more than you do, trust me. The speech goes awry? You learn from it. The audience got no satisfaction from your trip-up. They were up their with you. So you lose the contest. So the editor doesnt like your writing. You decide if you walk away unscathed. Not them.

In some ways, maybe same sex adoption has benefits that will prove it to be a morally right set up for those children looking for loving homes to belong to. After all, it is never morally wrong to want to give a child a place to live where he is loved unconditionally right? Let's admit it, not all heterosexual parents chose to become parents. Some of them became parents by accident. Such situations result in unwanted children whose existence is sometimes only slightly better than living in hell. On the other hand, same sex couples choose to become parents. It is because of this motivation that we can be assured that they will always be morally responsible for their actions when it comes to their children. According to experts like Abby Goldberg (As cited in Pappas, 2012), gay parents are usually more motivated than their heterosexual counterparts because they made the choice to become parents. As such the perception that same sex couples only want to have â€Å"designer babies† is based upon misinformation. The same sex couples have a full understanding of their responsibilities as parents and what to expect when they have children. They have a much deeper understanding and commitment to the life of the child that they will be raising than most heterosexual couples do. These children have the advantage of growing up in a home that has open-mindedness, tolerance and role models for equitable relationships as part of its lifestyle. Therefore the children will grow up having a deeper understanding of social issues and a ready acceptance for anything that others might view as out of the ordinary. Children raised in gay households are no different from their heterosexual counterparts. If anything, they grow up with more empathy towards other people because they do not find themselves constrained by gender stereotypes (Bloo ms, 2011). Instead, they prove to be well adjusted individuals who have a serious insight about life and the responsibilities that it entails. Let us not forget that there are thousands of unwanted children lined up in adoption agencies who are in need of a home. Homosexual parents are more than willing to give children that heterosexual parents pass on a good and loving environment to be raised in. Children all deserve to be raised in loving homes by people who only want what is best for them. But unlike straight couples who tend to pick the best of the litter (if one were to compare babies to dogs), same sex couples do not care about the shortcomings of a child. Columbus Day Essay When asked should Columbus Day be celebrated? The answer we get is yes because we have a holiday on Monday of the second week of October. Columbus Day is the celebration of the day Christopher Columbus apparently discovered America. If I was asked that question I would say most definitely we shouldn’t celebrate Columbus Day. First, he brought disease that spread around the Americas killing 9off the Native Americans. Second, most people think that by celebrating Columbus Day we are celebrating the discovery of America, which is not true. Third, he destroyed Native Americans and their culture. Firstly, he brought a boat load of disease that spread around the Americas killing off the Native Americans. When Christopher Columbus came to America he brought many diseases that Native Americans weren’t immune to. Some of the diseases he brought were measles, mumps, smallpox, and many more. Smallpox was one of the most know disease he brought to America. The Native Americans had never been exposed to these types of diseases and millions of them died from it. The diseases would kill the entire families and villages and cause of that Native American tribes and cultures were damaged. By celebrating Columbus Day we are celebrating the damage he produced to Native Americans. Secondly, most people think that by celebrating Columbus Day we are celebrating the discovery of America, which is not true. How can America be ever discovered by him if there were people living there? America was already exiting and you can’t discover something that already exists. Christopher Columbus did not find North American on purpose and he was not the first to find it either. Leif Ericsson of the Viking found North America first. So technically Christopher Columbus didn’t discover America so why should we have a day just for him? It just doesn’t make sense to have a holiday for someone but there is no really reason behind it. Thirdly, he destroyed Native Americans and their culture. Christopher Columbus was an uncaring and a harsh person. He mistreated Native Americans when they tried to be welcoming to him and his crew. He killed many Native Americans and slaves, the killing led to culture and tribes damaging. The only thing he was after for were Gold and Slaves. He took so much from the helpless Native Americans and was selfish and heartless. He neglected them in every nasty way possible and gave them cruel and unusual punishments. Why should we celebrate a day for a person that has mistreated our people? That like saying you have used me many times but I will still go back to you. We shouldn’t celebrate a day for a person that was as careless, and heartless as him. In conclusion, in America every year we celebrate a day called Columbus Day. Many people believe we celebrate Columbus Day because he discovered America. It’s not possible for him to discover America if there were people living there already. If you look deep into what worthy and cruel things Columbus had done for us, most of them will be cruel things. I don’t think we would want to have a national holiday for the person who has done so much cruel things to us. Firstly, he brought lots of disease that spread around the Americas killing off the Native Americans. Secondly, most people think that by celebrating Columbus Day we are celebrating the discovery of America, which is not true. Thirdly, he destroyed Native Americans and their culture. In my opinion we should not Celebrate Columbus Day.

How to Perform Rhetorical Analysis Becoming a critical reader means learning to recognize audiences, writers, points of view and purposes, and to evaluate arguments. In addition to the rhetorical triangle, structure of an argument, and rhetorical appeals, you should look at the following devices used by authors when performing critical analysis. Keep in mind too that these are only some of the devices, and that authors may use other rhetorical devices as well. Word choice Denotative language. Words that relate directly to the knowledge and experience of the audience. Includes specialized, precise or familiar words that speak to logic. Specialized terminology from medicine or law speaks to doctors or lawyers. Precise language that shuns emotional coloration appeals to people who use logic and reason, regardless of profession. Connotative language: Words that relate to deeper, symbolic levels of meaning. It includes social meanings acquired through use and emotional associations. It can also reflect social, racial, political, or religious stereotypes. For example, a writer who refers to liberals as â€Å"bleeding hearts† communicates not only her or his own bias, but an expectation that the audience shares this bias. Tone: can be characterized as the author’s attitude toward the reader or toward the topic. Formal: Creates a distance between the writer and audience by removing most I’s and you’s, and by using elevated, specialized language. Formal tone suggests a serious, high-minded, probably well-educated audience. Informal: Introduces the personal. When a writer is informal, the kinds of stories she relates, the way she presents herself, even the words she uses suggest audience attributes by indicating what she expects them to accept. Irony: Points to discrepancies between what exists and what ought to be. It is a subtle tactic that assumes an audience of careful readers. It implies some sort of discrepancy or incongruity, and it counts on the readers’ ability to understand this discrepancy. Sarcasm: Also points to discrepancies between what exists and what ought to be. A writer using sarcasm often attacks an argument by saying the opposite of what he means. Humor: Tactic that plays on social group bias. When we laugh at something, we join with people who are of like minds to laugh at the other—the distorted, the unusual, or the exaggerated. The food industry has grown and stabilized strongly, because of the increasing demand of the population for food resources (Nataliya Moglina, 2010).To keep up with it, the food providing companies or farmers had to adjust in their production plans, one of the methods besides good marketing, was to genetically modify the crops of plants and the meat sources (Nataliya Moglina, 2010). Over the past decade, consumers have showed a high level of anxiety about the safety of the food source, which consumers asked for assurances that food is free from materia ls such as pesticides, hormones and antibiotics. Moreover, some consumers accepted on the benefits of chemicals in the food production that resulted in cosmetically perfect fruits and vegetables at low price.It has been seen in the previous researches that the worldwide consumers respond negatively towards food products made from genetically modified food which they try to avoid taking and consuming GMF because of the risks and negative effects on the human health. Some studies in US showed a higher acceptance from consumers on biotechnology and genetically modified food than other countries. Furthermore, China, India, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia are the main countries are working on modified crops in Asia.Nevertheless, in developing countries only little acceptance have been showed toward genetically modified food. In my opinion, most of the consumers they mostly refuse using genetically modified food because of the risks on their health such as liver cancer, allergies, hea rt diseases, and colon cancer and it may damage nerves system. However, the marketing is promoting the product and attract people to buy these products even if they are harmful on their health also it help them to achieve more sales.Recently, genetic modified food is being consumed in a big amount to provide people's needs of food according to the increasing numbers of the population, which it produces cheap, safe and nutritious foods. The advantages and disadvantages of GMF caused diverse opinions and arguments in different countries (Amin, 2011). So the advantages of GM foods such as, good quality of food, offer inexpensive and nutritious food like carrots with more antioxidants, provide food with a greater shelf life like tomatoes hat taste better and last longer, produce food with medicinal benefits for instance bananas with bacterial or rotavirus antigens, and produce crops that require less chemical application, such as herbicide resistant canola. Despite the many advantages t o genetically modified food there are also several disadvantages. The main impact is that genetically modified foods are original and it is difficult to know all the coming effects it might be on human health and environment (Amin, 2011).Another disadvantage is the possible impact it could have to human health, like for example some of new genes that are inserted into food can be resilient to specific antibiotics, so when we eat these products the effectiveness of antibiotics might be reduced. Also new allergens could be suddenly created and well-known allergens might be transmitted to new foods, for instance when the genetic factor of the peanuts was taken and put in a tomato so people that are allergic to peanuts could be allergic also to tomato (Amin, 2011).Genetically modified food endures a debatable subject which some experts trust that the future of GM crops is at a crossroad (Biggs, 2007). Some genetic modification of food has helped producers more than consumers because it gives more products faster which can be sold to the consumers and most of the consumers cannot accept to get specific nutrients from genetically modified food (Biggs, 2007). So, the future of GM foods seems to depend on purpose of issues linked to cross-pollination and change of existing crops, the viability of small farms, consumer benefits, and other worries (Biggs, 2007).After the appearance of genetically modified food, some people were against of using these products according to the risks on their health which the other side of people was with using these products because of the advantages (Biggs, 2007). This issue leaded to debates and different arguments such as, the government was against of using these products so it has decided to introduce classification of genetically modified food to protect consumers from misuses of producers and providers of biotechnology products ( council, 2007) .Also it will allow for the consumers to choose between genetically modified or non-Gen etically modified food. So the labeling polices depend on the supposition that the industry is incapable or unwilling to recognize the risks that inherited in their GMF products (council, 2007). Thus, the government gets involved in the market with obligatory labeling policies to ensure consumer protection from possible health and safety risks related with depletion of GM food.Moreover, environmental activities, religious administrations, professional associations and other scientists have worries about GM food so it seems that everybody has a strong view which most worries of GM food separated into environmental dangers, human health risks and economic concerns (Herbert, 2005).
